Black Rebirth Collective (BRC) is a space that fosters artistic curiosity, integrity and freedom for artists of color, namely women from the African diaspora. Inspired by the inimitable Beah Richards, BRC offers an artistic community where artists of color can reconnect with their childlike joy, abandon and freedom while creating. Theatre liberates the players from the fetters of body and gender and encourages the belief that anything is possible. Like Ms. Richards, who brought humanity, dignity, pride and deep love for the cultures of the African diaspora in every character she portrayed, BRC was created in homage to Ms. Richards.
