The Saturday Scene series was introduced by Geffen Playhouse to bring a myriad of free-of-charge, high quality theatrical productions and workshops to the community and celebrate theater with young people and their families. Past Saturday Scene guests have included acclaimed theater company Parson’s Nose Productions in a production of Moliére’s The Family Miser and theater professionals teaching workshops in improvisation and masks.
ARK is a not-for-profit community arts center providing in-depth visual and performing arts to more than 5,000 children and their families each year. Their many programs include art classes, a mural program and free community art workshops.
Geffen Playhouse is headed by Producing Director Gilbert Cates, Artistic Director Randall Arney and Managing Director Stephen Eich.
The 2001-2002 season continues with Georges Feydeau’s He Hunts (April 9-May 19), in a new translation and adaptation by Philip Littell, directed by David Schweizer and Neil Simon’s Oscar and Felix, A New Look at The Odd Couple (June 11-July 21). Geffen Playhouse is located at 10886 Le Conte Avenue in Westwood. Visit the Geffen website at www.geffenplayhouse.com.
