Geffen Playhouse is offering a six-day dramatic writing and performance workshop for 18-20 year olds who seek to grow as theater makers. Students will develop their artistic voice through writing, performing, and creating an ensemble.
Each of the 10 students will create their own 3-5 minute one-person theater piece, culminating with a student-led performance workshop on Saturday morning, June 27, for an invited audience at the Geffen Playhouse. Students will be guided by two Theater Intensive Co-Directors who are experienced in theater making, in supporting the artistic growth of young adults as writers and performers, and in facilitating ensemble work.
The intensive sessions will take place Monday through Friday and will focus on participants advancing their physical, vocal, and improvisational skills, drafting and revising a written theater piece, and workshopping and staging their pieces with their cohort.
The Theater-Making Intensive for Young Adults is made possible through the generosity of a Geffen donor.
