DEPARTMENT: Front of House
STATUS: Seasonal, Hourly, part-time, (non-exempt) $19/hour
JOB DESCRIPTION: Guest Services has a variety of roles; including but not limited to: checking Covid Vaccinations and I.D.s, scanning tickets, merchandise, assisting House Managers, V.I.P. room, etc. We are specifically looking for team members seasonally during the end of October-late November or early December.

Geffen Playhouse is a non-profit, professional theater dedicated to enriching the cultural life of Los Angeles through plays and educational programs that inform, entertain and inspire.

Job Qualifications/Skills

  • Ideal candidates will be friendly, articulate, and approachable and attuned to patron needs.
  • Responsible, self-motivated, and able to work in crowds and high-stress situations.
  • Positive attitude with the desire and ability to be a team player.
  • Prior experience working Front of House in a live theatre setting is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience working as a high traffic customer service position preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and need to be able to stand for long periods of time.

GEFFEN PLAYHOUSE COVID-19 EMPLOYEE VACCINATION POLICY

To protect employees and their families as well as our contractors, vendors, and patrons from the spread of COVID-19, Geffen Playhouse has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and show proof of an FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccination (the vaccine) unless the employee requests and receives an exemption from HR. Employees must schedule and obtain all recommended doses of the vaccine from an authorized health care provider or other third-party administrator, such as a local pharmacy.

Any employee who seeks an exemption from this policy based on a disability or any medical condition that is a contraindication to the vaccine, such as a history of certain allergic reactions; or a sincerely held religious belief, observance or practice that conflicts with being vaccinated, must be willing to explore with the organization the prospects for reasonable accommodation in lieu of such vaccination. The organization will grant accommodation if it is reasonable and does not create an undue hardship or pose a health or safety risk to that employee or to others potentially affected. While we ask that you not provide any medical or genetic information with that request, we will maintain as confidential any such information that comes to light in the process.
