HERSHEY FELDER Actor, Playwright, Composer and Steinway Concert Artist. Broadway: George Gershwin Alone (Helen Hayes Theatre); Back From Broadway (Lincoln Centre Theatre) Off-Broadway, Regional, and International appearances include stage roles in Stempenyu, A Fiddler on the Roof, Gigi, Waiting for Godot, Macbeth, Sotoba Komache, Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, Shlemiel I, Lies My Father Told Me, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Importance of Being Earnest and The King and I. Mr. Felder has just been named a Visiting Scholar in Residence at Harvard University Department of Music. Conducting credits include: La Bohème, Falstaff, Turandot, Tosca, Manon (Massenet) and The Master and Margarita for the Harold Prince Musical Theatre Workshop, Fiddler on the Roof and Gigi, among others. Writing and composing credits include: Adam’s Apple-Eve’s Dessert (The Story of Weight Watchers) New Jersey, 1996; Fairytale, an operatic musical, New York, 1995; Noah’s Ark, an opera, Los Angeles, 1997, Toronto, 2001; Sing! A Musical Journey, Los Angeles, 1998; George Gershwin Alone, Los Angeles, Florida, New York, Boston 2000-2002; Back from Broadway, Los Angeles, Florida, New York, Boston, 2001-2002; Aliyah, concerto for piano and orchestra. Recordings include Love Songs of the Yiddish Theatre – The Music of Abraham Ellstein; Felder has been featured in television specials on CBS, NBC, PBS, BRAVO, CBC and CTV. Concert artist appearances in The United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Israel. He is the President of Eighty-Eight Entertainment, LLC and he has been newly appointed as Artistic Advisor for the new Centre for Arts and Culture in Boston. His next project is a play about Romance set in France, 1846 - through the eyes of pianist-composer Frederic Chopin, his lover the author, George Sand, and their friend, the great painter, Eugene Delacroix.
