Developed for the Dramatists Guild of America members, Playwrights Welcome is a national ticketing initiative created by Samuel French along with Concord Theatricals' sister companies R&H Theatricals and Tams-Witmark, Dramatists Play Service, Dramatic Publishing, Music Theatre International, and Playscripts. The goal is simple: to provide free access to theatre for playwrights, composers and lyricists. We are invested in the success and artistic health of our industry’s writers, and by extension the vibrancy of the American theatre. We’re also aware that attending theatre is an integral part to how writers learn their craft and grow as artists.
Geffen Playhouse is proud to take part in Playwrights Welcome, which offers available tickets to professional playwrights on the day of a performance, free of charge. To receive a ticket through Playwrights Welcome at the Geffen, please contact the box office in person or by phone (310.208.2028) on the day of the performance you’d like to attend. Please note that a Dramatists Guild membership card is required to pick up tickets, and there is a limit of two free tickets per member. Available while supplies last.
Please note that all Macbeth performances are ineligable for this program.
For more information on this national program, and to learn which theaters around the country are involved, please visit concordtheatricals.com.
Geffen Playhouse is proud to partner with Theatre Communications Group and Blue Star Families to offer U.S. military personnel, veterans and their families discounted tickets to most season productions based on availability.
Based on ticket and offer availability, qualified individuals will be able to purchase $20 tickets (no fees, limit 4) to most regular season performances. Please note that availability for some performances or productions may be restricted. Call Audience Services at 310.208.2028 for details.
This offer is only available by calling 310.208.2028 (daily 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, closed holidays) and providing the BLUESTAR code as well as your contact information. No more than 4 Blue Star tickets for each production may be purchased by any Eligible Service Member or spouse. Exceeding the 4 ticket limit or duplicate purchases in any one production will result in cancellation of all orders. While discouraged, you may also be able to book tickets in person at the box office window immediately prior to your desired performance based on availability. The offer is not valid online or through other phone lines.
Blue Star Theatres is a program of Blue Star Families and Theatre Communications Group.
We are excited to pilot the Geffen Playhouse Theater Access Project (TAP) this season, thanks to the bold leadership of eight Board members, whose significant generosity and belief in the power of the arts are giving us the opportunity to invite new patrons to experience the joy of theater and significantly expand our audiences and partnerships with the diverse Greater Los Angeles community – at little to no cost to our new TAP patrons and partners.
To engage new patrons within the diverse communities of Los Angeles in the art of theater and introduce them to the world-class plays on our stages, with the hope that they will fall in love with the Geffen Playhouse and become life-long theatergoers and supporters of the arts.
Individuals and organizations from all neighborhoods of Los Angeles that are new to theater and/or to the Geffen Playhouse and are wanting to experience the joy and power of theater.
To build new levels of inspiration, empathy, understanding, hope and connection to the people and world around us through live theater and storytelling – at little to no cost to our new TAP patrons and partners.
