Black Girls Cinema Club

Black Girls Cinema Club

Black Girls Cinema Club (BGCC) is a social film community where cinema becomes a space for critical conversation, cultural celebration, and radical imagination. Founded by Actress and Black Feminist Film scholar Joy Brunson, with the mission to center Black feminism in film theory, our screenings, discussions and wellness initiatives are designed to amplify the voices, experiences, and creative power of Black women in and behind the camera throughout Hollywood’s storied history.

We believe that representation matters—not just on screen, but in the conversations that follow.
