Marianna Palka wrote, directed and stars in the dark comedy “Good Dick,” which screened in one of sixteen competition slots at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Marianna was honored with the New Director's Award by Sean Connery at the Edinburgh Film Festival and was a Sloan Juror with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Palka received a 2004 Critic’s Pick from Backstage West and a Best Actress nomination from The Ticket Holders Awards for her performance in Martin McDonagh’s “The Lonesome West” at the Actor’s Gang Theatre, Los Angeles. Palka can be seen in Peter Mullen’s critically-acclaimed film “NEDS” and recently completed the female lead in Jeremiah Jones’ independent film “Restive.” Other films include Nick Towne’s “Day of the Dead” and Bryce Dallas Howard’s directorial debut “Orchids,” with Katherine Waterston and Alfred Molina. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Palka now lives in Los Angeles, CA.
