Francisco “Pancho” Cohen was born in Venezuela and raised in El Paso, Texas. A 10-year veteran of the US Navy, he is a graduate of UCLA (B.S. – Sociology), and has attended both Art College Center of Design in Pasadena, CA and Grand Central Atelier in New York, New York. Recent awards include Audience Choice Award at the Los Angeles Plein Air Festival and 3rd Place “On the MAP” El Paso and Beyond show at Crossland Gallery (EL Paso). He has exhibited at the Adams Square Mini Park in Glendale, CA and been a resident artist at Camera Obscura Art Lab in Santa Monica, CA. A former resident of the prestigious Joshua Tree Highland Art Residency, he has been a featured artist at Luminaria Arts Festival in San Antonio, TX. He is a former recipient of the Hudson River Fellowship in Jackson, NH. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
