Little Fish Theatre is an artists’ ensemble established in 2002 whose mission is to present quality productions year-round, drawing material from the wealth of new, contemporary and classic plays that lend themselves to an intimate performance space. We aim to explore provocative, stimulating theatrical entertainment, while providing a nurturing environment for theatre artists and an inviting nexus for local and visiting audiences to our 65-seat venue in the South Bay in LA County. Focusing on transformative and compelling storytelling from untapped voices, LFT is particularly invested in the work of living playwrights, annually producing a Pick of the Vine Short Play Festival from over 600 international submissions and soliciting full length works from Los Angeles area playwrights and from around the country.

Little Fish Theatre is a program of Shakespeare by the Sea whose mission is to bring contemporary and classical works to under-served, culturally diverse audiences in order to ignite imagination, encourage artistic expression, and to make theater accessible to all. By producing theatre, we aim to explore the truth of the human spirit through texts, affording each individual actor and audience member an unparalleled intellectual and emotional encounter.
