Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron’s Fashion-Focused Hit Must Close November 19
LOS ANGELES, October 19, 2010 — After a seven month run in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater, Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron’s Love, Loss, and What I Wore, the intimate collection of stories covering some of life’s most poignant moments and their corresponding wardrobe, must close on November 19. The final cast includes two-time Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers well-known for her longtime role on All in the Family, Academy Award nominee Teri Garr recognized for her classic roles in Tootsie and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, veteran actress Mimi Rogers whose films range from Someone to Watch Over Me to Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, LA-based radio personality, author and actress Sandra Tsing Loh and indie-film actress Marianna Palka, who recently appeared in the Sundance film Good Dick which she also wrote and directed.
The evening of vignettes, directed by Jenny Sullivan and based on the best-selling book of the same name by Ilene Beckerman as well as personal reminiscences from the Ephrons and their friends, has featured a rotating cast of five actresses who share tales to which every woman can relate. The final installment of Love, Loss, and What I Wore has two preview performances on Wednesday, October 27 with an official opening on Thursday, October 28 and will run through Friday, November 19, 2010. The opening night festivities will be at Westwood’s BLVD 16 at Hotel Palomar, and will feature special drinks such as “The New Black” thanks to sponsors Krol Vodka, Glaceau and Malibu Family Wines.
Love, Loss and What I Wore is simultaneously running off-Broadway and in Toronto where it is produced by Daryl Roth. Originally directed by Karen Carpenter, the show opened in October 2009 and is still playing to sold-out houses. Former Los Angeles cast members have included Tyne Daly, Florence Henderson, Jami Gertz, Lauren Hutton, Carol Kane, Natasha Lyonne, Gina Torres, Rita Wilson and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Staged with a focus on storytelling, the actresses sit side-by-side with script in-hand, deftly guiding the audience through an evening of humor, nostalgia and, of course, fashion.

SANDRA TSING LOHSandra Tsing Loh is the author of the New York Times notable book Mother on Fire, inspired by her hit solo show that ran for seven months in Los Angeles. Other solo shows include Aliens in America and Bad Sex With Bud Kemp (both off-Broadway at Second Stage), Sugar Plum Fairy (Geffen Playhouse, Seattle Rep), and I Worry (Kennedy Center, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville). Loh’s previous books include A Year in Van Nuys, Aliens in America, Depth Takes a Holiday, and If You Lived Here, You’d Be Home By Now. She has been a regular commentator on NPR’s Morning Edition and on “This American Life;” currently, her weekly segment “The Loh Life” is heard on KPCC, and her daily minute "The Loh Down on Science," syndicated on 200 stations in 80 countries, is being developed into an hour-long radio quiz show. She is a contributing editor for The Atlantic Monthly.
MARIANNA PALKAMarianna Palka wrote, directed and stars in the dark comedy “Good Dick,” which screened in one of sixteen competition slots at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Marianna was honored with the New Director's Award by Sean Connery at the Edinburgh Film Festival and was a Sloan Juror with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Palka received a 2004 Critic’s Pick from Backstage West and a Best Actress nomination from The Ticket Holders Awards for her performance in Martin McDonagh’s “The Lonesome West” at the Actor’s Gang Theatre, Los Angeles. Palka can be seen in Peter Mullen’s critically-acclaimed film “NEDS” and recently completed the female lead in Jeremiah Jones’ independent film “Restive.” Other films include Nick Towne’s “Day of the Dead” and Bryce Dallas Howard’s directorial debut “Orchids,” with Katherine Waterston and Alfred Molina. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Palka now lives in Los Angeles, CA.
MIMI ROGERSMimi Rogers continues to be one of the busiest and most versatile talents in Hollywood, continually challenging herself with an eclectic assortment of acting roles and producing projects. Her vast film credits include Some to Watch Over Me, The Door in the Floor, Lost in Space, The Rapture and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. Her television credits include “The Geena Davis Show,” “The X-Files” and “The Loop.” Mimi’s upcoming films include Balls to the Walls, directed by Penelope Spheeris, and Lucky opposite Colin Hanks and Ann-Margret. As a producer, Mimi’s film Unstoppable, directed by Tony Scott and starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine, opens next month.
SALLY STRUTHERSSally Struthers is a two-time Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner for her performance in the groundbreaking series All in the Family. She starred in the Fox television series 9 to 5 and her own CBS series Gloria. Her recurring roles include the CBS comedy Still Standing and the CW’s highly acclaimed Gilmore Girls. Sally costarred in two legendary motion pictures in the 70’s: Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nicholson and The Getaway with Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw. On Broadway she starred in Wally’s Café with Jimmy Coco, in Neil Simon’s female version of the Odd Couple with Brenda Vaccaro and in the Tommy Tune production of Grease. Other starring roles include Annie, Mame, Chicago, Hello Dolly, Anything Goes, The Fifth of July, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, and The Full Monty. She is the proud mother of Samantha Rader.
