SuperSpecial is a production company and talent incubator founded by award-winning writer, director and producer, Amy Aniobi (best known for HBO's Insecure and Netflix's Survival of the Thickest). Through SuperSpecial, we champion inclusive stories from original voices in film, television, theatre, podcasting, and multimedia.

In January 2021, Amy founded TRIBE, a not-for-profit, writers' fellowship and ongoing career network, that emerged in response to the isolation and disruption experienced by Black and POC creatives during the COVID-19 pandemic and racial unrest of 2020. TRIBE is designed to bridge the gap between writing independently and building a sustainable career in the creative industries.

TRIBE reflects our commitment to building a more inclusive creative industry—one that centers community, mentorship, opportunity, and investment in compassionate creatives of color. Through programming such as The Writers' Mindset (online course), SuperFest (creative wellness event and film festival), TRIBE nurtures emerging talent and connects writers to meaningful opportunities.
