The Elysian is a nonprofit theater on L.A.'s east side with cutting-edge alternative comedy, theater, and uncategorizable performances seven nights a week. With a mission to foster and promote bold new work from emerging and established artists, The Elysian hosts classes and workshops, artist residencies, work-in-process initiatives, genre-clashing collaborations, The Spaghetti Festival of new ideas, and more.

Our vision is to advance the contemporary culture of comedy and live performance by giving performers the space to radically experiment, helping them discover and strengthen their voice. We seek to be a creative incubator in Los Angeles that offers a respite from the pressures and expectations of the film and television industry. Our philosophy of giving artists the freedom and encouragement to safely develop shows with a supportive audience that embraces original, innovative work, will generate a higher quality of new work that advances the contemporary culture of comedy, theater, and beyond.
