POSITION OVERVIEW

This part-time position is a key member of our Box Office Team. Box Office agents process ticket orders and subscriptions. They answer box office phone calls, input customer information and process payments. The Box Office Team acts as polite and knowledgeable customer service liaisons to theater patrons, supporting a smooth entry into the theater and distributing information relating to the box office and about the Geffen Playhouse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process single ticket orders, subscriptions, exchanges, and donations over the phone, email, and in-person.
  • Completes payments and distributes tickets and confirmations to patrons.
  • Answers box office inbound phone calls, responds to patron questions regarding box office policies, season productions, and/or Geffen Playhouse related questions.
  • Supports the box office in-person at will-call prior to showtimes.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, co-workers, and management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education or GED.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge or a background in theatre is encouraged.
  • Ability to learn and recall box office policies.
  • Detail oriented, problem-solving skills, and an ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Tessitura and Microsoft Office are ideal but not necessary.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish preferred, but not necessary.

COMPENSATION

  • $19.00/hour. No employee benefits; no more than 29 hours per week.
