Mike Lew is the author of Teenage Dick (Donmar Warehouse/London, Ma-Yi Theatre Company at The Public Theater/New York, Pasadena Playhouse); Tiger Style! (South Coast Repertory, La Jolla Playhouse, Alliance Theatre); Bike America (Ma-Yi Theatre Company, Alliance Theatre); and microcrisis (Ma-Yi Theatre Company, InterAct Theatre Company). He is the co-bookwriter of the musical comedy Bhangin’ It, about a collegiate bhangra dance team, with songs by Sam Willmott and book co-written by Rehana Lew Mirza which premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse. This summer, his play tiny father (commissioned by Audible through their Emerging Playwrights Commission) will have its co-world premiere at Barrington Stage Company and Chautauqua Theater Company. He is currently co-writing an animated film for Dreamworks with Rehana Lew Mirza. Mike is a Dramatists Guild Council member, Tony voter, and New Dramatists resident. Honors: Guggenheim, Lark Venturous, and NYFA fellowships; Steinberg Playwrights, Kleban, PEN, Lanford Wilson, Helen Merrill, Heideman, and Kendeda awards. Education: Juilliard, Yale.
