For the health, safety and well-being of our patrons, staff and artists, Geffen Playhouse’s current COVID-19 policy requires guests to be vaccinated and to wear masks. Upon arrival and prior to entering the building, all guests must present proof that they meet the CDC definition of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, either in the form of a physical vaccination card, a digital vaccination card, or a photo of the card. All guests over the age of 12 must present a photo ID along with their proof of vaccination. Children ages 6 to 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Guests who are exempt from COVID-19 vaccinations due to medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs will be required to take either a COVID-19 PCR test within 48 hours or a proctored COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test within 24 hours before entering the building and present their negative results at the door. COVID-19 Home Test results will not be accepted. To be eligible for an exemption due to a medical condition or restriction, or a sincerely held religious belief, a patron must provide a verbal self-attestation to qualify for the exemption.
Geffen Playhouse is partnering with CLEAR to expedite the entry process with Health Pass. For those who are interested in speeding up their entry time into the theater, you'll be able to download a free app, easily register your vaccination, and show your health pass on your phone at the door. CLEAR is a trusted platform for 100+ partners across the country.
Although the indoor mask mandate has been eased in Los Angeles County, Geffen Playhouse will require all guests to remain masked, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must be worn over the mouth and nose at all times except while eating or consuming beverages in the lobby and courtyard areas. Masks will be mandatory at all times inside our theaters.
Only these types of masks may be worn: medical/surgical masks, N95, KN95, or KF94. Unacceptable masks include: cloth, neck gaiters, bandanas, and masks with vents. Medical/surgical masks will be provided to patrons if needed.
We will not be social distancing audiences inside of the theaters.
Children under 6 are not admitted at Geffen Playhouse. Additional age restrictions and recommendations vary by production.
Food and beverages may be purchased at the Geffen Playhouse bar and consumed in the lobby and courtyard areas. No food or beverages are allowed inside the theaters at any time.
We will not be holding post-show talkbacks until further notice.
These rules are temporarily in place for the safety of our staff, artists, and your fellow patrons. Thank you for being supportive and kind to ushers and front of house staff during this time.
NOTE: This policy is subject to change at any time, in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines. Please check back for our current policy before your scheduled performance date.
