A One-Night-Only Concert Dedicated to the Gil Cates Memorial Fund December 18, 2011
LOS ANGELES, November 18, 2011 — The Geffen Playhouse invites you Home for the Holidays with a festive one night only concert featuring acclaimed singer Nathan Pacheco. Pacheco, revered as “the voice of the century” by famed musician Yanni, will perform magnificent Christmas classics such as "Ave Maria" and "Silent Night" as well as stunning perennial anthems including “Danny Boy,” “Hallelujah” and Pacheco’s signature “Nessun Dorma.” Home for the Holidays: The Voice of Nathan Pacheco will be performed in the Gil Cates Theater at the Geffen Playhouse on December 18, 2011 at 7 p.m. There will be a wine and dessert reception post-show for all guests.
Nathan Pacheco has graciously donated this performance in memory of Geffen Playhouse founder, Gil Cates, who was committed to sharing Nathan’s voice with a larger audience. A portion of the ticket income is tax-deductible and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Gil Cates Memorial Fund.
Pacheco, a favorite from previous special events including last year’s Backstage at the Geffen, has been featured on several national television broadcasts including two PBS television specials and the ABC/Disney Parks Christmas Parade. In May he performed for His Royal Highness Prince Charles at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. and later this year, will perform “O’ Holy Night” on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, Philadelphia’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the ABC/Disney Parks Christmas Parade with Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins.
