Geffen Playhouse Signature Series Make A Night of Theater More ‘Play-Full’

Talk Back Tuesdays, Girls Night Out, Lounge Fridays and Wine Down Sundays Make an Evening at the Theater a Night to Remember

LOS ANGELES, August 15, 2011 — Geffen Playhouse Signature Series, which includes Talk Back Tuesdays, Girls Night Out, Lounge Fridays and Wine Down Sundays – is back on the scene for the 2011/2012 to make an evening at the theater a night to remember. Ranging from cerebral to celebratory, special events include everything from Q&A’s with artists to chic post-show parties, all of which are designed to heighten patrons’ theater experience on select nights during the run of every show. Thanks to the donations and support of Geffen Playhouse partners, all elements of Signature Series evenings are complimentary as part of the standard ticket price for the designated performance. The following Signature Series options are available to subscribers and single ticket buyers:

  • TALK BACK TUESDAYS – EVERY TUESDAY DURING THE REGULAR RUN
Talk Back Tuesdays give theater lovers with a thirst for deeper conversation a chance to discuss plot, character, themes or any other questions they might have directly with the artists themselves. This stimulating series includes pre-show beverages, compliments of Peet’s Coffee & Tea, as well as a chance to interact with the actors – and the occasional playwright or director – when they come out on stage after the show and take questions from the audience. These stimulating evenings are moderated by Geffen Playhouse Education Director Debra Pasquerette. For once in your life, it’s okay to talk back!
  • GIRLS NIGHT OUT – THE THIRD THURSDAY OF EVERY RUN
Everyone knows that girls just wanna have fun, and this Signature Series was designed with that in mind; although of course, gentlemen are welcome to join as well. These special evenings, sponsored by Los Angeles magazine, Rue La La, Glaceau and Pixi Beauty, occur once during each main stage production (five per year), and each Girls Night Out features partnerships with different lifestyle experts, brands or products that keep patrons on the cusp of what’s hot in LA. While each night might be different, every Girls Night Out promises a wonderful evening of theater followed by an utterly unique party complete with complimentary drinks, tasty nibbles provided by Ronen Levy Events and a takeaway gift. Cocktails and culture? Yes please!
  • LOUNGE FRIDAYS – THE FOURTH AND FIFTH FRIDAY OF EVERY RUN
Twice during the run of every main stage show, the Geffen Playhouse turns into a haven to help fast-paced Angelenos ease into their weekend with Lounge Fridays, sponsored by Venice Magazine. Taking away the hassle of trying to pack in pre-show dinner and/or drinks, the Geffen Playhouse has partnered with West Restaurant & Lounge to feature complimentary tastings of seasonal culinary creations in the Geffen’s lobby before the performance. In addition, guests are offered complimentary bubbly to ring in the weekend – and who wouldn’t raise their glass to that?
  • WINE DOWN SUNDAYS – EVERY SUNDAY DURING THE REGULAR RUN
Wine Down Sundays provides patrons with the perfect pairing – wine, world-class theater and contemporary music. Before the show on Sunday evenings, patrons are treated to complimentary wine tastings, often poured directly by the winemaker or distributor. These evenings feature a different winery for each production, so patrons who come regularly will discover new wine and new music before their theatrical experience. This season, Wine Down Sundays will feature tastes from Malibu Family Wines, Martian Ranch & Vineyard and Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley. To help make the evening a full sensory experience, The Sound 100.3FM will be providing the soundtrack for the evening as the official media sponsor. Wind down your weekend right!
