Neil Labute’s Fat Pig Gets A Second Helping At The Geffen Playhouse With Additional Performances Through Sunday, July 1st

Critically Acclaimed Production Features Andrea Anders, Chris Pine, Kirsten Vangsness and Scott Wolf at the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at Geffen Playhouse

LOS ANGELES, May 29, 2007 — The Geffen Playhouse is pleased to extend an additional two weeks of performances of the West Coast premiere of Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig at its Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater. The production continues with eight shows per week, and now closes on Sunday, July 1, 2007. Directed by Jo Bonney, the play stars Scott Wolf (Tom) and Kirsten Vangsness (Helen) who take the lead on debating morality as Chris Pine (Carter) and Andrea Anders (Jeannie) agitate conscience. LaBute’s cynical play explores a larger-than-life dilemma when love and affection go against the grain of conventional society.

Looking for Ms. Right, Tom meets Helen and is bowled over by her wit, her intellect and her interests, with one problem: Helen is fat. Overcoming his own bias for her love, Tom doesn’t account for the reaction of friends and co-workers, forcing a man to choose between the woman he loves and how others perceive her.
