Signature Series Make the Entrance of Chad Deity That Much More Elaborate

Talk Back Tuesdays, Girls Night Out, Lounge Fridays and Wine Down Sundays Bring New Partners into the Ring

LOS ANGELES, September 6, 2011 — Kristoffer Diaz’s Pulitzer Prize nominated play The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity may be the main event, but the Geffen Playhouse’s Signature Series help make this already special night at the theater that much more elaborate. The Signature Series for The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity offers one-of-a-kind special events at no additional cost and include:

Talk Back Tuesdays – Sept 13, 20, 27 and Oct 4
Talk Back Tuesdays give theater lovers with a thirst for deeper conversation a chance to discuss plot, character, themes or any other questions they might have directly with the artists themselves. This stimulating series includes pre-show beverages, compliments of Peet’s Coffee & Tea, as well as a chance to interact with the actors – and the occasional playwright or director – when they come out on stage after the show and take questions from the audience. These stimulating evenings are moderated by Geffen Playhouse Education Director Debra Pasquerette.

Girls Night Out – Sept 15
Everyone knows that girls just wanna have fun, and this Signature Series was designed with that in mind; although of course, gentlemen are welcome to join as well. Grab friends, bring a date and turn your ordinary Thursday evening into a scintillating, one-of-a-kind night out. This post-show party held at the Geffen Playhouse will feature a "Make Your Own Elaborate Entrance" statement necklace boutique highlighting the Cayetano Legacy Collection. Girls Night Out guests will enjoy a 30% - 50% discount off the retail price on never-before-seen, first-look styles. Other after-party highlights include a hosted bar featuring Malibu Family Wines & Krol Vodka signature cocktails, a delicious buffet courtesy of Ronen Levy Events, our fun Girls Night Out photo booth plus a Pixi Beauty take-away gift bag distributed by two of LA's hottest men from DailyHotGuy.com.

Lounge Fridays – Sept 23 and 30
Cultural happy hour meets bon appétit in this enticing way to ease into your weekend. Unwind and enjoy delicious culinary delights provided by West Restaurant & Lounge, served pre-show in the Geffen's lobby from 7pm - 8pm with complimentary tray passed bubbly courtesy of Le Grande Courtâge. This award-winning bubbly is refreshing, lively and distinctive. The crisp character and fruit and floral notes make for a versatile beverage to pair with an array of cuisines.

Wine Down Sundays – Sept 11, 18, 25 and Oct 2, 9
Marvelous ambiance enhances the mood Sunday nights as you cap off your weekend with complimentary wine tastings courtesy of local favorite, Malibu Family Wines from 6pm - 7pm in the Geffen’s lobby and classic sounds of Southern California from new media sponsor, 100.3 The Sound.

The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity makes its West coast debut at the Geffen Playhouse on Wednesday, September 7. New York cast members Usman Ally (VP), Terence Archie (Chad Deity) and Desmin Borges (Mace) get back in the ring to reprise their roles at the Geffen Playhouse where they’re joined by seasoned pro-wrestler Justin Leeper (The Bad Guy), actor and wrestler Timothy Talbot (Billy Heartland / Old Glory), and character actor Steve Valentine in the role of Everett K. Olson (aka EKO). Helmed by Edward Torres, this acclaimed new work slams together thrilling spectacle, incredible characters and geopolitical allegory into an invigorating theatrical experience you can’t find on pay-per-view. The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity had its world premiere in 2009 at Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago before moving to Second Stage in New York. This West Coast premiere will allow both playwright and director to delve deeper into this still new work, which has already been lauded with the 2011 New York Times Play Prize, the Obie Award for Best New American Play and the Lucille Lortel Award for Best New Play. This smack-down of a play is currently running in the Gil Cates Theater through October 9, 2011.
