Pablo Santiago is an internationally recognized lighting designer whose bold, emotionally resonant work spans live performance and digital film. He is thrilled to return to Geffen Playhouse following the recent production of Furlough’s Paradise. Santiago’s artistry has earned him some of the industry’s highest honors, including the LA Drama Critics Circle Lighting Award, the Henry Award, the Richard E. Sherwood Award, and multiple Ovation Award nominations. Originally from Chiapas, Mexico, he began his creative journey in film before transitioning to the stage, bringing a cinematic sensibility to theatrical lighting. His designs are renowned for their power to transform space and elevate narrative, crafting immersive worlds that captivate audiences. Santiago’s work has been showcased at top national venues, including The Kennedy Center, LA Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Goodman Theatre, and Dallas Theater Center. His innovative approach continues to shape the visual language of contemporary theater, opera, and symphonic performance.
