Rachel is a storyteller for stage, film, and live events. She is thrilled to return to the Geffen after designing Skeleton Crew. Credits include: BAM; Regional: Center Theatre Group, South Coast Repertory, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Shakespeare Theatre, Getty Villa, The Watermill Center, and Williamstown Theatre Festival; Los Angeles: Rattlestick West, IAMA, Theatre @ Boston Court, and Vs. Theatre. Rachel’s company, 3 Penny Design, has conceived, designed, and produced live events for Crayola in Times Square, the Emmy Awards, the Golden Globe Awards, and VidCon, winning Ovation, NAACP, Streamy, and Broadway World awards. Production design credits include: Short Term 12 (winner SXSW, Independent Spirit Awards), Kim Possible, Desperados, The Drowning, and more. As a director, Rachel’s award-winning films Wendy’s Shabbat and 2 Black Boys premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and Outfest, screening at Palm Springs International Film Festival and 70 other festivals worldwide. Wendy’s Shabbat (broadcast on PBS and Topic) was considered for the Academy Awards. Her films have exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Northwest Film Center; and Northwest Film Forum. Awarded the inaugural Shondaland Women Directing Mentorship, a WarnerMedia OneFifty Artist grant, nominated for the Lynn Shelton Grant, and selected for the Sundance Director’s Co-Lab.
