Rachel is the Director of New Play Development at the Geffen Playhouse, where she supports the artistic staff in season planning and fostering new work. She spearheads The Writers’ Room annual program, in which six Los Angeles-based playwrights develop new plays with the Geffen. She has previously worked in a dramaturgy/literary management capacity at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, McCarter Theatre Center, Marin Theatre Company, and the Ojai Playwrights Conference. Favorite past dramaturgy projects include the world premieres of Chelsea Marcantel’s Citizen Detective (New York Times Critic’s Pick), Inda Craig-Galván's Black Super Hero Magic Mama, and Alena Smith’s Icebergs (Geffen Playhouse); Nick Payne’s Constellations (Geffen Playhouse); and a workshop of Jason Grasl’s Lying with Badgers (Native Voices at the Autry Festival of New Plays)
